Schlumberger Excellence in Educational Development
The Schlumberger Excellence in Educational Development (SEED) is a volunteer-based, nonprofit educational program that brings together Schlumberger employees, community members and a diverse group of individuals to advance the educational needs of underserved students across the world. SEED’s mission is to ignite passion for science and learning in youth ages 10–18 and empower them to use knowledge and technology creatively to meet global challenges within their own community.
In January 2011, SEED commissioned Informing Change to conduct an internal assessment and external field scan to better understand how SEED compares to other corporate-sponsored youth education programs, how these programs assess impact and effectiveness, and potential areas for collaboration. SEED also asked Informing Change to research specific topics to inform their program planning.
