Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce – Pillar Initiative
The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce is one of the nation’s oldest and most prominent regional business advocacy organizations, representing more than 1,600 companies. Education and workforce development are among the L.A. Chamber’s key priorities.
The L.A. Chamber’s Pillar initiative is designed to build and support partnerships between Los Angeles businesses and public schools that increase the rigor and relevance of curriculum, engage students in their education and prepare them for post-secondary study and successful careers.
The L.A. Chamber engaged Informing Change to provide strategic consulting services to help increase the impact of the Pillar initiative. Through this consultation, Informing Change worked with Pillar staff to refine the program’s Theory of Action and develop a practical and informative evaluation plan. The findings from this project will help the L.A. Chamber build deeper and stronger partnerships between schools and the business community that will introduce students to real-world professional challenges and opportunities, and encourage them to pursue further training and employment that capitalizes on their skills and interests.
